Our Core Ethical Recruitment Principles

At SkyRoute Global (Pvt) Ltd (Licensed Foreign Employment Agency), we believe that ethical recruitment is not merely a statutory obligation, but an essential foundation for sustainable international partnerships. Every worker embarking on overseas employment deserves fair treatment, transparent remuneration, dignity in the workplace, and full protection under bilateral labor agreements.

We actively oppose all forms of human trafficking, debt bondage, deceptive recruitment, and extortionate sub-agent practices. Our operations align strictly with Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) standards and international fair recruitment conventions.

1. Strict Compliance with Statutory Fee Schedules

Debt bondage begins when unscrupulous brokers levy excessive, hidden recruitment fees on vulnerable candidates. SkyRoute Global adheres strictly to authorized government fee schedules:

  • We never charge application processing fees or registration surcharges.
  • Statutory costs—such as authorized medical testing and SLBFE registration insurance—are published transparently and acknowledged with official stamped receipts.
  • We forbid any staff member or intermediary from soliciting gifts, kickbacks, or undocumented cash transactions.

2. Absolute Protection of Personal Documents

A worker's passport is their legal property and sovereign identity document. SkyRoute Global enforces a strict non-withholding policy:

  • Passports are handled solely for necessary visa stamping and airport clearance, after which they are returned directly to the candidate.
  • We contractually require our overseas partner employers to respect candidate document ownership and prohibit post-arrival confiscation.
  • Candidates are educated on their legal right to retain their identification and mobile communication devices at all times.

3. Transparent Contracts in Native Languages

Contract substitution—where a candidate signs an agreement in Colombo but is forced to sign a lower-paying contract upon arrival—is a severe abuse of labor rights:

  • Every candidate receives their formal contract in their preferred native language (Sinhala, Tamil, or English).
  • Wage rates, accommodation provisions, working hours, and repatriation benefits are clearly explained prior to departure.
  • Our contracts are registered and authenticated directly with SLBFE authorities and diplomatic missions to ensure binding legal recourse.

4. Recognizing Recruitment Scams & Reporting Violations

We urge all candidates and families to stay vigilant against common fraudulent practices operating outside licensed channels:

Warning Sign: Unlicensed Brokers

Individuals operating from private houses or coffee shops without an official SLBFE license number. Always verify license authenticity at www.slbfe.lk.

Warning Sign: Visit Visa Promises

Promises to "convert" a tourist or visit visa into an employment permit after arriving in the destination country. This is illegal and dangerous.

Warning Sign: Guaranteed Visa Claims

Promises of "guaranteed visas" without interviews, qualifications, or medical screening. Legitimate visas are issued only after rigorous official evaluation.

Confidential Reporting Desk: If you suspect any unauthorized individual is impersonating SkyRoute Global or soliciting illicit payments, report the matter immediately to our senior management at info@skyrouteglobal.lk or contact the SLBFE Special Investigation Unit hotline.
